Full Metal Alchemist Manga- The Promised Day- Major Spoilers

Postby Forum-Merger on Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:20 am

For anyone who keeps up with the Full Metal Alchemist Manga, you might be wondering just what The Promised Day is. The behemoth Sloth carved a huge circle into the entire country of Amestris; and Greed, Scar, and Edward are all fighting together on the same team. The Promised Day is the day the creator of the Humonculous will attempt to open the Gate, and is also the day that the country shall attempt to overthrow the corrupt leaders. Edward plans to jump in the gate and retrieve Als body, and Als armor is beginning to reject his spirit more and more frequently. Ed and Als father was recreated into a living philosophers stone, and Envy hinted that the giant circle was intended for more than just creating another large philosophers stone.

Id like to hear theories and discussion about this. Id like to mention that the anime series and movie departed from the true manga about the time Greed was introduced. The sloth that has Eds arms and uses alchemy doesnt exist; neither does Dante or anything else like that. Youre welcome to mention these discrepencies, but the Anime doesnt even mention The Promised Day. For the sake of discussion, the what the Manga says is more important that what the anime says if the two differ. Lets discuss!
