Hello, I'm doing a research project for my english class about modern day movies. I was hoping to get opinions from other people. So my question is, What modern day movie (from the year 1980-2007) would be consider a classic in 50 or 60 years.
Take time to think about the answer and vote for up to three movies. Even though its not required, please give a short reason as to why you chose those movies.
For those that answer, thank you for your help, and for those that didnt, I would apprectiate your help, but I still thank you for taking time to read this post.

Star Wars, Star Trek, and James Bond series will remain relevant for quite awhile. I believe that these movie franchise will be recycled and remade for generations.
There are some classic movies in the 70's that you're missing, namely Jaws, The Exorcist, and Godfather. Those movies have the mileage to last 60-70 years as classics. In fact, Godfather was released in 1972 and is tops among IMDB's list. |

I think if you look at LOTR trilogy as one movie it is a classic, just due to its scope, even in 50 years i dont think many movies will be as massive or as well polished as LOTR.
Resevoir Dogs, the movie isn't classic in terms of the plot, but the dialogue is excellent, and it just has this X-factor this raw stylistic feel to it.
Batman is just an extremely enjoyable movie, great script, world class performances, and the movie has such a great look to it. This is a movie that i would watch in 50 years just for pure laid back enjoyment |
