Help !
Can you guys please recommend a few PC adventure games with a clear-cut ending and a real chance at success??
First, I like an ending...Rescuing a Princess, Breaking into Ft. Knox, Escaping from the Dungeon...as long as there is a clear-cut goal from the very beginning.
Second, the "real" chance at success means that you don't need to know impossible things.
For example, in a recent game I tried, there's a puzzle with a crystal imbedded in a rock and I have to get it out. I tried to pry it out with my knife, ax, blades, bones, fire...everything. After wasting 3 straight nights trying everything, I eventually cheated online, and found out that first I had to use my chisel AND combine it with a piece of wood, ALL WHILE wearing a glove. The instructions gave no indication whatsoever that inventory items could (and must!) be combined. Whoever did solve this, must have done so by accident.
I love a challenge and I love to conquer different levels. but overly hidden items and impossible logic (a stick can dig out a crystal but a knife can't?) are far too annoying to me.
So I ask, very sincerely, for some suggestions of excellent adventure or goal-oriented games that are challenging but logical !

| A good place for adventure games is the AGS forums. AGS stands for Adventure Game Studio, and its a full community that develops these games. You can find free and demos that people have done with the engine. |

| man, i got to say this: you really know what you want! and i agree with you, games shouldnt require players to have supernatural instinct on what to do next... |
