I am currently doing a project in school as a media student and i would appriciate it if anyone could enlighten me on thier thoughts of how womens roles in films have progrssed over the years.
Particularly in action films, how do we look at these women, is it acceptable for them to play a predominant males role, are they used for sexual connotations, do they play a heroin role, are they role models to women?
please add your views and opinions |

The roles woman get/play in films has expanded certainly, but whether it ultimately is progress or simply moving side to side is the question. I think you might hear alot of actresses express frustration at what's really available. Older actresses certainly.
There are more women these days behind the camera which has to count for alot too.
anyway, I guess I don't necessarily have an answer, just more questions really - but it's an interesting topic. |
