Okay, I don't have an idea how it affects other people so I speak of myself.

I don't see any changes of my behaviour because of video games. And neither do my friends or family. So, I think it certainly doesn't effect my behaviour. But some games can have same effects than movies, for instance, when playing a horror game I become scary and alert for a while, and it can cause nightmares.
Some people claims that racing games makes you drive in real life like crazy too. That's definitely not the case with me. I enjoy a lot racing games and for me it's a way to feel the racing cause in real life I do not have that oppoturnity. In real life I always drive calmly and by the rules. Same goes for the war and violence games. It's all about feeling and experiencing things which are not possible in real life for you. That's why I love gaming and especially the simulators.
When it comes to children playing violent games, then _I think_ it's totally different thing. I think it's important that there is age limits for games -just like there is for movies- but one problem is, atleast in Finland, that it's not so well controlled. It's very easy for 13 years old to buy a game which has 18 years old age limit.
My opinion is that it does not have an effect for normal adult person but I'm not sure when it comes to kids. |
